LETTING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The main house is always let in its entirety, though rental reductions may be agreed for smaller parties of 6/8 off season. An additional charge of £125/week is made for additional guests in excess of 16 up to a max of 22. Change over day is Saturday.
Once a booking has been paid for, refunds will only be made if we have been able to re-let the week(s) in question and on the basis of rental subsequently received. We therefore suggest that cancellation insurance is taken out.
All Sheets Pillow Cases and Towels are provided as well as Towels for the pool which you will find in the pool wet room. Please do not take house towels outside. A cleaner will prepare the house on the morning of your arrival, and can buy some basic provisions if you let us know beforehand. You will be notified where the keys are to be collected from / found.
The rate, as quoted, is for a week commencing on Saturday at 16.30 until the following week 10.30.
A returnable deposit of £500 is due on booking plus 25% of the agreed rate, the balance to be paid 8 weeks before occupation. Heating costs, laundry and consumables such as gas, water, Broadband and electricity are included in the rental charge.
We do not “count the teaspoons”, which has proved unnecessary as most lettings have been to friends but we would appreciate notification of any breakages or other damage.
The gardener attends regularly to check the pool and carry out the mowing, and can be called in the event of need. The Housekeeper is available for any help or local knowledge as and when required. There are numbers for the Fire service, and the Gendarmerie, by the phone and we have a Doctor, Dr Riviere at Astaffort who has a map, knows where we live, and will come out on call. Any real dramas should be taken to Condom Hospital. There are fire extinguishers (2) in the upstairs hall and one by the kitchen phone, as is a fire blanket. Every room has a smoke detector. Please do not smoke anywhere in the house and that applies particularly to the young. If smoking outside or using the BBQ, do be vigilant as everywhere is tinder dry from May to September We also have a good first aid kit in Bathroom No 2 which includes” Epi Pens”
As the house is in semi permanent use, with the family and our friends, and the Painting / Cooking groups, we all leave everything as we would like to find it. The drinks tray will be there, as will a semi full drinks fridge. If you run out or need to use our drinks, do, but please replace before you leave.
Tea, coffee, chocolate, olive oil, water, cereals, emergency rations (for late night arrivals) and the rest of the larder will all remain. If you run out of anything please replenish on a like for like basis, and similarly the first aid kit
We do not carry third party insurances and therefore guests are not covered for injury, accidents or damage. It is therefore recommended that you take out full insurance to cover every eventuality for your party at the time of booking
